David K. Cheng is a partner in Nixon Peabody LLP’s Tax Controversies and Litigation Team. Mr. Cheng represents clients, from Fortune 500 corporations to high-net-worth individuals, for a variety of issues related to taxation. His work includes representations regarding audits, appeals, and refund and collection matters before the Internal Revenue Service (Exam and Appeals), the U.S. Department of Justice, and the California Franchise Tax Board. He also has experience regarding tax deficiency matters, including relating to tax shelter transactions, before the U.S. Tax Court. Additionally, he has represented clients before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission related to accounting fraud. Mr. Cheng has served as lead counsel in the formation of tax-exempt entities and compliance programs for some of the largest charitable organizations in the United States.
He is also very active in developing relationships with Chinese companies, organizations, and individuals.
After law school, Mr. Cheng worked for the U.S. Justice Department as a trial attorney in the tax division. Joining through the Honors Program, he served as lead counsel charged with representing the United States in over 90 civil cases in U.S. District and Bankruptcy courts. He was responsible for multimillion-dollar tax refund suits brought by individuals, partnerships, and corporations, and collection and foreclosure suits against individuals, trusts, and corporations.

Jia is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of RockYou, and has focused extensively on graphic design and usability throughout his professional web development career spanning over 10 years. Prior to RockYou, Jia has held management roles leading the user interface and technical solutions teams at Open Harbor, and managing the majority of engineering at Iconix. Jia started working on scalable consumer applications at shopping tools internet provider Bluedog, a Stanford based startup, and was part of the original team at Bell Laboratories which developed the VoiceXML format into the W3C standard. In addition, Jia's experience has spanned enterprise sales and professional services functions, as he closed transactions and integrated with large multi-national corporation customers like Mitsubishi, Tyco, Flextronics, and DHL. Joe Shapiro is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Palo Alto, California-based personal-video sharing website
uShow.com. Originally from Arizona, Shapiro attended The Wharton School of Business before moving to Silicon Valley, CA. He briefly worked as an investment banker in the Technology, Media, and Telecom sector for Lazard Freres and subsequently worked on a mobile video startup which evolved into uShow.

Over the last 20 years he's alternated between giant companies and founding startups - BBC, The UK MultiMedia Corporation, Apple QuickTime, Technorati and now Google. The common thread has been working out how people, computers and media can complement each other, and solving the engineering and social problems where they meet. He is one of the driving forces behind microformats.org and advisor to the Open Rights group.

Keith holds numerous patents for his work on these products. Prior to Yahoo, he worked for Palm designing applications and interactions for the Treo. He also taught at Carnegie Mellon University as an Adjunct Professor in the Design Department while building a design agency specializing in interaction design and marketing for the web.
